FREE COMIC BOOK DAY – Details

Saturday, May 5, 10am-3pm

Once a year, the stars align and people from all walks of life gather to celebrate comics! And what better way to celebrate than with FREE COMICS for everyone?!? Bring out the whole family for an extra special FCBD and meet heroes, artist, creators and a miniature horse cosplaying as TV’s own Lil’ Sebastian from Parks and Recreation.

Free Comic Book Day is an all day celebration of comics at Delaware’s one stop shop for all your pop culture needs!

With over 30 titles to pick from, every person that comes to Captain Blue Hen Comics on May 5th gets a FREE comic! That’s right. Ever living breathing person leaves Captain Blue Hen Comics with a free comic from the selection below.

Plus – you can earn more FREE COMICS! Earn a bonus comic by donating canned food goods, coming dressed as your favorite comic book character, or by showing a valid library card, or show us that you are a member of the military or a first responder.

There will be a slew of real comic book artists here all day sketching for the kids as well as promoting their comics. Newark Arts Alliance will be hosting How to Draw Classes with the artists and Face Painting all day long!

We collect canned food items all day for the Newark Welfare Committee

The Newark Arts Alliance is looking forward to being a part of Free Comic Book Day again this year. We’ll have everything you need to make a super hero cape for kids and Mother’s Day cards for your super mom – all free!

The Newark Police Department will be at Captain Blue Hen Comics on Saturday May 5th for free comic book day. Find Sgt. D’Elia and guess his favorite superhero to win an Infinity Gauntlet.
