Dave’s Stack – What is Captain Blue Hen Reading? – August 30

“Dave’s Stack” is what is in my weekly pile of new comics. “Dave” is me–I work at Captain Blue Hen Comics and write and edit for the website. You might know Paul, Joe, Jason, Madge, and Thomas–I am the other one. Long-time readers remember “Top o’ My Stack” and “Dave’s Stack” as a look my reading habits. This is the sixth installment of the refreshed, irregularly-published, “Stack” and I am giving you the whole list of what I am getting this week plus a brief review of what I look forward to most and the book I will read first. I get to see what you are reading. Next time I am ringing you up, tell me which book in your stack is the one you can’t wait to check out.

(I repeat the heck out of the title’ Dave’s Stack – What is Captain Blue Hen Reading? – August 30 ‘ to get a better SEO grade if that makes any sense.)

Dave's Stack - What is Captain Blue Hen Reading? - August 30Featuring at the Top o’ My Stack:

JAMES BOND MONEYPENNY ONE SHOT
DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT
Writer: Jody Houser
Artist: Jacob Edgar
Dynamite Entertainment has been doing such a good job with their James Bond 007 comic books! The Bond books are a series of mini-series peppered with one shots like this one featuring Moneypenny. They started with twelve issues by Warren Ellis followed by Andy Diggle and others. These are new stories featuring a version closest to Ian Fleming’s character in the novels but in a contemporary setting. They are influenced by the Daniel Craig Bond movies without trying to use his likeness, The first spin-off title was Felix Leiter and it was a delight. Can’t wait to see this take on the modern version of Moneypenny.
Dynamite Entertainment says: “By writer JODY HOUSER (Mother Panic, Faith) and new artist JACOB EDGAR, a never-before-told mission starring MONEYPENNY, friend of JAMES BOND, former MI6 field agent and bodyguard of M! On a ‘routine’ protection mission, Moneypenny discovers a complicated assassination plot that bears a startling resemblance to a terrorist attack from her childhood. Can she call upon her secret agent skills to stop the plot…?”
