MONSTERS UNLEASHED #1
Writer: Cullen Bunn
Artist: Steve McNiven
Who doesn’t love Marvel Comics and the creations of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko? Who doesn’t love giant monsters? Who doesn’t love superheroes? Who doesn’t love the dynamic art of Steve McNiven? Who doesn’t love super powered slug fests for the fate of the world? Is it you? Well, stay away from Monsters Unleashed!
In the time between the Golden Age and the Silver Age, there were hardly any superheroes in comic books. Most were horror, westerns, romance, and at Atlas Comics (Marvel before Marvel) there were a lot of monster comics. That’s where we got Groot, Goom, Orrgo, and Fin Fang Foom. Those guys have never really gone away thanks to Lee and Kirby bringing them into the Marvel Age of comics and thanks to their fans continuing to use them ever since. Now all those monsters seem to be teaming to fight the modern Marvel superheroes. Grab the popcorn.
Marvel Comics says:
“THE EPIC BATTLE MARVEL FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR, DRAWN BY TODAY’S GREATEST ARTISTS!!!
It’s all hands on deck with the AVENGERS, CHAMPIONS, GUARDIANS, X-MEN and the INHUMANS as they clash with monstrous threats that threaten to destroy every corner of the Marvel Universe. Who are the LEVIATHONS? Who controls them? How can they be stopped before Earth becomes another tragic, barren world in their wake? Written by powerhouse writer CULLEN BUNN and drawn by Marvel legend STEVE McNIVEN, this issue is the beginning of something big that you just can’t miss!”
